DHS - Preventing Heat-Related Illness

HEAT ALERT: The overnight temperatures in most of Victoria have been far higher than those forecast, and as a result the heat health thresholds have been exceeded.

High overnight temperatures such as those that occurred do result in adverse health effects, particularly those most at risk - including older persons, pregnant women and children, those with disabilities, chronic disease and taking some medications.

Given these extreme temperatures, it would be timely to remind your patients how they can care for themselves during today and the coming few days following the heat.
