Post-graduate course: The Diploma in Child Health (via internet streaming and dvd) in paediatrics for doctors.It is jointly awarded by The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) and the Coppleson Committee in Continuing Medical Education of the University of Sydney.
The DCH curriculum aims to improve the health care of children by promoting best practice in primary care paediatrics. This is achieved through the following goals:
1) To encourage the principles of evidence based practice as part of ongoing medical education.
2) To understand the health care needs of the patient and their family in the context of their physical and geographical location.
3) To encourage attitudes of respect and consideration to all children and their families.
4) To encourage age, culture, socio-economic and language appropriate communication and interaction with children and their families.
